OR Practice & Quality Council

The Operating Room Practice and Quality Council seeks to support nurses by promoting evidence based practice. Through the sharing of research, implementation of evidence based practice, and continuous process improvement to ensure that we provide safe, high quality care to our patients, support and advance the practice of our nurses. The purpose of the Practice and Quality council is to improve the quality and safety of perioperative nursing care for patients and families in order to close the quality gap.

OR Professional Development Council

The purpose of the Professional Development Council is to support and encourage the education of operating room professionals and the ongoing quest for evidence-based knowledge in order to contribute to the quality of healthcare in the future. To continually educate and update staff to empower them to deliver best practice patient care within a multi-disciplinary team. Provide innovative and creative educational opportunities for staff which facilitate professional and personal growth, professional competence, and advance career goals by encouraging leadership, responsibility, and accountability.

OR Operations Council

The Operations Council is a cross section of OR staff consisting of RNs, CSTs, PSTs and off shift staff inclusive of all services. In keeping with the DHMC Mission, Vision, and Goals, the Operations Council is charged with closing the Quality Gap between the best that can be and where we are today, practicing careful stewardship and helping to create systems that work within the Operating Room.
