We are a busy 34 bed unit which incorporates pre-admission testing, pre and post procedural care, a regional block area as well as a six bed pediatric area. SDP is opened Monday to Friday from 6am to 8:30pm and observes all hospital holidays. We also have a variety of different shifts/hours. There are opportunities to work with various age groups as well as all surgical and procedural services. The staff are patient care driven and team focused. Our team is resourceful and conscientious of the workload on any given day, helping to assure that everyone succeeds. Flexibility is key as assignments and patient populations fluctuate. No two days are the same, making every day exciting and “like a box of chocolates…you never know what you will get”.

Coming from one experienced traveler, who has had multiple assignments, “this is the best department I’ve ever worked in”. Not only do we work hard at work, we also enjoy group opportunities such as our recent boat cruise of Lake Sunapee, which included an educational component and lunch; and ended with a 2 mile hike up Mount Sunapee to enjoy the beautiful fall colors.
