Forty-six physicians with Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center ties, in 34 different specialties, were recently named to New Hampshire Magazine’s list of the leading physicians in New Hampshire, in the magazine’s April edition, on newsstands now.
In January 2010, New Hampshire Magazine distributed surveys to every physician licensed to practice in New Hampshire, asking them to nominate specialists in 45 different categories that they would recommend to friends and family for treatment. The surveys were then compiled and the top vote getters named as the top doctors and leading physicians in their respective specialties.
The 2010 edition of “Top Doctors” also included a special Readers’ Choice feature, reporting on the magazine’s invitation for readers to submit their own health care heroes. This second annual Readers’ Choice section included Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Concord pediatrician Dr. Mark Carney. About Dr. Carney one parent wrote, “We have always been grateful to have such a great doctor, and great person, looking after the well-being of our children.”
The April issue also features a Q&A with Dr. Gilbert Fanciullo of the Pain Management team at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center’s Spine Center. Dr. Fanciullo was drawn to his field when he was in medical school, during the early years of this specialty. The most rewarding aspect of his work is to see his patients “transported back into their old selves, once again smiling, happy, and doing the things they used to be able to do.”
